NORTH DAKOTA, U.S.–The fossilized duckbilled hadrosaur is so well preserved that scientists have catalogued details never before known. Researchers calculated muscle mass and learned that it was more muscular than thought, probably giving it the ability to outrun predators such as T. rex. While they call it a mummy, the dinosaur is not really preserved like King Tut was. The dinosaur body has been fossilized into stone. Unlike the collections of bones found in museums, this hadrosaur came complete with skin, ligaments, tendons and possibly some internal organs, according to researchers.
The study is not yet complete, but scientists have concluded that hadrosaurs were bigger — 3.5 tons and up to 40 feet long — and stronger than had been known, were quick and flexible and had skin with scales that may have been striped.

WISCONSIN, USA–Three-year-old Kaleb Kidd holds the discovery of his young life, the tooth of a woolly mammoth. The boy came across what he thought was a weird rock while out chasing squirrels with his grandfather, Gary Kidd. Like grandfather, like grandson…the elder Kidd knew exactly what the child had found because he had found the a woolly mammoth’s tooth almost 10 years ago. The Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse confirmed Kidd’s hunch. The Center’s Director estimates the tooth to be between 10,000 and 30,000 years old.Gary Kidd found his while clamming in the Mississippi River in 1998. That tooth was saturated and fell apart. The younger Kidd’s tooth is well preserved. Right now, it’s on display at an art gallery, and Kaleb’s not to happy about having to share his treasure.
